the last person who should give up hope on yourself is you

I can’t stand to fly
I’m not that naive
I’m just out to find
The better part of me

I’m more than a bird...
i’m more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It’s not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I’ll never see

It may sound absurd... but don’t be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed... but won’t you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream
It’s not easy to be me

Every day is so wonderful
And suddenly, it's hard to breathe
Now and then, I get insecure
From all the pain, I'm so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends, you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The piece is gone left the puzzle undone
That's the way it is

...
...

And everywhere we go (everywhere we go)
The sun won't always shine (sun won't always shine)
But tomorrow will find a way
All the other times

Look what Jasmine got in office today!

Car decal with a cow wearing THE Brazil Number 10 jersey!!!

P.S. yes, that is about the happiest thing that has happened in office so far this year.

Sunday, July 4, 2010

“Every 4 years, for 31 days, the world comes together... to stand apart.”

So jasmine watched her first soccer match last Friday.
A significant milestone for someone who once said she would rather face the wall than watch a soccer match.
And she is quite ashamed to publicly admit that her reason for watching was for a particular Number 10 player in the Brazilian team.

Her mind is still reeling in shock over the results of the game.
Now she can kind of understand why some people get so emotional over a soccer match.
And why her colleague drowned himself with alcohol and turned up late for work the next day after his favourite Italian team got kicked off.

Two days after, her heart still wrenches at the news and thoughts of that fateful match.
She doesn't know which is worse... that Brazil is out of the World Cup, or that the haughty Orange team managed to get through again.
Aye, double whammy.

Do you know that she secretly applaudes Melo for what he did just before he got red-carded out of the match? Go Melo!

Oh Brazil, we all share your pain.
