i love to doodle

In conjunction with Singapore Biennale 2008, a bunch of aspiring artists decided to hold a spontaneous
"Post-it Doodle Art Exhibition".

PS: You should really expand the picture to see the cute little pieces of masterpiece... quite blur though.

This is what you get when you leave a box of markers and post-its with some overstressed bank labourers. Our right brains can do extremely remarkable feats!

"The decision marks the end of Wall Street as we have known it'' - William Isaac

This blog is supposed to be for my frivolous, shallow thoughts and not meant to be taken seriously. But...

I am seriously disturbed by the spate of jaw-dropping finanical upheavals in recent weeks.
In awe and total disbelief at what has happened because I will never imagine that such a complete shakeup of what was previously entrenched in my mind as a stable, legitimate financial system can possibly happen right before my eyes.

Sept. 22 (Bloomberg) -- The Wall Street that shaped the financial world for two decades ended last night, when Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley concluded there is no future in remaining investment banks now that investors have determined the model is broken.

I keep thinking back one year ago when I just graduated, my dream was to (someday) get into one of the cool and swanky investment banks. I am sure I was not alone. And now... look at the turn of fortunes. *shudders*

Happy to have a job now.
Thanks to whoever and whatever.

!stunned

While I was busy on a shopping spree today, the financial market came crashing down (as if trying to prove how deep down it can fall to). And it all has to happen on this fateful day - 15 September 2008 - dashing the tiniest hope of recovery of even the most optimistic of the lot. -Haiz-

  1. One bank filed for bankruptcy
  2. Another was bought over
  3. One insurance company went into a frantic search for money

It is funny that what goes up must come down but what goes down... well... can stay down or go even downer...

the sky is blue

Captioned is a fact that everyone knows, yet nobody appreciates.
I just realized I have the habit of looking up, and be very fascinated by scenes of white, formless fluff against an unnaturally blue backdrop.
(On a sidenote, to illustrate my look-up habit, I was on a course a few weeks ago and I was the first to notice that someone had stuck a piece of post-it on the ceiling of the classroom with some scribble which I cannot remember. Haha. I am not alone in this business of looking up.)

Snapshots of my white and blue.

On the way home today... very early day!
Looks so pretty though captured on my lousy camera phone.

Over the weekend...
Just love the very very very big cloud that seems to float so effortlessly...
I wonder if angels do stay there.

misses

Other than the break from the monotonity, there is nothing much during weekends that I look forward to.
These days, with the constant firefighting at the office, facing boredom at home is more appealing than wrestling through weekend crowds.

So, with nothing to do, i decided to check my yahoo mailbox which I have yet to clear for the past 6 months. Found some old long forgotten photos, which boredom has driven me to patiently struggle with the user-unfriendly photo upload tool of Blogger to share with what is remaining of my audience...

I don't remember when this was taken but Ying sent this to me in Year 2006. Really miss those girls as it has been a long time since I met them, especially Ying and Aiqi... Our lives have changed so much since then, from students to working adults... haiz.. and it is tougher and tougher to find a common time to meet up... The possiblility of another trip to the zoo is not even remotely possible. Sob!

In typical Ying's style, she titled this photo - "Ying Er's Boyfriend". I wonder how her boyfriend now will feel. Talk about change... from single to happily ever after now... Ying do you see any resemblance?

This is the first photo taken from my first camera phone with the ever lovely cousin of mine. Wah been a long time since I met her and I am reminded I owe her some money from the last shopping trip. Haha~

Manz, I really ough to go through my list and start meeting those long lost friends.. which I have been conveniently putting at the back of my mind.

How often have I said to meet up soon but it never happens?
Countless... gosh I ought to be ashamed...

It is funny how weekends are so significant once you shed the skin of a student and get sucked into the evil corporate world. Students can never understand what TGIF means.
